About OBS
The Okanagan Bouldering Society was formed in 2015 with the express purpose of promoting bouldering and area development in the Okanagan valley in an environmentally conscious and socially responsible manner.
We are dedicated to advocating for the continued access to local bouldering areas and building beneficial relationships with the various private and public land owners and management groups.
The OBS can be counted on to act in the best interests of the Okanagan bouldering community and also to promote the ethical and responsible use of all Okanagan bouldering areas including encouraging limited access to sensitive areas.
OBS has over 170 members currently.

Robson Wong
Robson has been climbing in the Okanagan for 8 years. He learned how to climb in the Boulderfields and considers it his stomping grounds. He started working in climbing gyms right as he got into climbing and has been immersed in the climbing community ever since. After years of limit bouldering in the fields, he was converted to sport climbing and has since been sampling endless classics throughout the valley.
Robson joined the OBS because the boulderfields are a very special place for him and he wishes for other people to experience them as he has. -

Isaac Schock
Isaac’s passion for climbing started in the gyms here in the Okanagan. It didn’t take long for him to start exploring the sport and taking that new found love out into the wild. He is one of few true Okanagan Locals, and loves to see the climbing community continue to grow. Isaac works as a professional setter and coach and plays an integral part in introducing climbers to the outdoors the right way.

Chris Madar
Chris has been climbing for as long as he can remember, but it wasn't until he moved to Norway, after finishing university, that he took up bouldering. In 2022 he moved to the Okanagan and has been getting involved in the climbing community and exploring all the new exciting areas. Professionally, he studied mechanical engineering with mechatronics but is now working as a system architect and software developer. Chris has traveled all over the world to climb, and is excited to get more involved locally in the Okanagan bouldering scene, as well as explore some of the mountaineering opportunities BC has to offer.

Ella Block
Ella has been a part of the Okanagan climbing community since she moved here in 2019 and has enjoyed whipping and falling on the best routes and boulders the Okanagan has to offer. Though a sport climber at heart, Ella has spent many an evening racing up to the Boulderfields after work to give her projects “one last try”. She is a supporter and advocate for women in climbing - although some have complained she’s cheered them off the wall.
The Boulderfields have made a home in her heart and she wants to help others feel at home there too. -

Scott Gibson
Scott’s climbing journey began at the Rock Garden in Vernon, and quickly expanded into bouldering, sport climbing, and trad climbing all over the okanagan and beyond. He joined OBS to help give back to a community and sport that has given him so much. He is an advocate of making climbing accessible and sustainable for as many people as possible

Gillian Spencer
Gillian’s climbing journey began in 2012 at Cliffside Climbing Gym in Kamloops.
She first ventured outdoors in 2016 at the Boulderfields, where she quickly fell in love with spending time in nature with friends while pursuing a sport that inspires her.
Today, Gillian spends most of her time sport and trad climbing; however, her appreciation for outdoor bouldering, and the landscapes that support it, motivated her to join the Okanagan Boulder Society. She is committed to helping maintain access to the bouldering areas that so many people cherish, while supporting the protection and long-term health of the ecosystems that make these places special. -

Rohan Ikebuchi
The man, the myth, the legend. Some say he lives at the fields. We will never know.
